Method of preparation:

First cook the pasta following the instructions on the package, usually for about 7 minutes. Drain and reserve.

While the pasta is cooking, cut the beef and chicken breast into strips. If you prefer, season with a little garlic and salt.

Then prepare the vegetables. Cut the onion into thin slices, the carrots into thin strips, the broccoli and cauliflower into medium pieces and the cabbage into square pieces.

In a large pan, melt some butter or oil. Add the onion and sauté until it turns golden.

Add the beef and chicken to the pan. Cook until they are completely cooked.

Include vegetables, starting with carrots, followed by broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage. Saute all the ingredients until they are soft.

In a separate bowl, prepare the Yakisoba sauce. Mix soy sauce, sake, sugar and cornstarch with a little water. Add this sauce to the pan with the meat and vegetables.

Continue cooking and stirring until the sauce thickens and coats all the ingredients.

Finally, add the cooked pasta to the mixture in the pan. Stir well so that everything mixes evenly.

If desired, add a few drops of toasted sesame oil to enhance the flavor of the dish.

So now that your homemade Yakisoba is ready, you can serve and enjoy this delicious meal full of flavors.

Curiosity:

Yakisoba is a dish that combines influences from Chinese and Japanese cuisine. The word “Yakisoba” means “fried noodles” in Japanese, but interestingly, the dish does not contain soba, a type of noodle. The noodles used in Yakisoba are egg noodles, which are more similar to Chinese yakisoba noodles.

Follow-up:

You can serve Yakisoba with a sweet and sour sauce on top or even add seafood, such as shrimp or squid, to give your meal a special touch.
